"I have been to other dentists and found Dr Riyaz to be honest and professional. I had a European dentist suggest something different than Dr Riyaz; we spoke with the European dentist and they finally agreed with Dr Riyaz's opinion. My work has been tested by a UK dentist and approved as professional work."

"Had a wisdom tooth removed with perfection الحَمْدُ للهِ. Nicely explained the post-procedure healing process too. Well-spoken, kind staff."

"A near-to-perfect place to solve all your dental problems. Dr Riyaz is an exceptional dentist who has been my doctor for more than a decade now. The whole staff, apart from being highly skilled, are also very kind and considerate."

"I visited Tru Smile Dental Clinic (Dr. Riyaz Quereshi) for my dental implants and honestly can't recommend them enough. I'm usually really anxious at the dentist, but the whole team made me feel at ease from check-in. Dr explained what he was doing the entire time, checked in on my comfort, and I felt absolutely no pain. The clinic is clean, they ran on time, and there was no pressure to do extra treatments. I actually left smiling. The waiting time is zero because, unlike other clinics, the appointment system is on point here 👍. Dr Riyaz Quereshi is very clear about the cost of treatment, and compared to the kind of excellent work he does, the charges are really reasonably priced. Dr made the entire implants job way less scary than I had expected — I didn't feel any kind of pain or discomfort."

"I recently underwent a dental implant procedure under the care of Dr Riyaz Quereshi at Tru Smile, and I am extremely satisfied with the entire experience. Dr Riyaz demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise throughout the treatment. The procedure was explained in detail beforehand, which helped alleviate any anxiety I had. The surgery itself was smooth, painless, and conducted with great precision. Post-operative care instructions were clear, and my recovery has been excellent. The clinic maintains very high standards of hygiene and patient care. The support staff was courteous, efficient, and always attentive to my needs. Appointments were well-managed and on schedule. I am very pleased with the final result. The implant functions perfectly and looks completely natural. I sincerely appreciate the quality of care provided by Dr Riyaz and the team. I would highly recommend Dr Riyaz to anyone considering dental implants or advanced dental treatments."

"Highly recommend this clinic for braces treatment. I'm really happy with the results. The orthodontist is experienced, skilled, and took the time to explain every step of the process, which made me feel comfortable throughout. The clinic is clean, well-maintained, and follows excellent hygiene standards at every visit. Staff were professional, and appointments were handled efficiently. Overall, it was a smooth experience and worth it."

Patient questions

Frequently asked questions — British patients

Is dental tourism in India safe?

Yes — when you choose a qualified specialist clinic. Tru Smile follows international sterilisation protocols (autoclaved instruments, single-use disposables for invasive procedures, ISO-grade infection control). Our implant systems are Straumann (Switzerland), Nobel Biocare (USA) and Osstem (Korea) — the same FDA/CE-approved brands used in your home country. India trains dentists for 5 years (BDS) plus 3 more for specialty (MDS), which exceeds many Western programmes in clinical hours. Over 1.4 million international patients travel to India for dental care every year; the safety record at specialist clinics matches or exceeds North American averages.

How much can I save on dental implants and full-mouth treatment in India?

Typical savings are 60–75% versus US, UK, Canada, Australia and UAE pricing, including a 7–14 day trip. Examples (single implant + crown): USA ~$3,500 / UK ~£2,200 / Australia ~A$5,000 vs ~$800–$1,200 in Mumbai. All-on-4 (full arch on 4 implants): US $24,000 vs ~$6,500–$8,500 at Tru Smile. Smile design (8 veneers): US $16,000 vs ~$3,200–$4,800. Even after return flights and a Premium 14-night hotel stay, total trip cost stays well below the at-home treatment fee alone. Use the calculator on this page for your exact numbers in your currency.

How long does dental treatment in India take? Can I finish in one trip?

Most full-mouth cases finish in 7–14 days on a single visit. Typical timeline: Days 1–2 diagnostics, 3D CBCT scan and written treatment plan; Days 3–5 implant surgery or major restorative work; Days 6–10 healing while you tour Mumbai/Goa; Days 11–14 final crowns, bridges or All-on-4 prosthetics + flight home. For staged implant cases (immediate loading not possible), a second 5-day trip 3–4 months later completes the permanent restoration — we time it so you only fly twice, not the four-to-five visits a US/UK clinic would schedule.

Do I need a special visa for dental treatment in India?

UK passport holders qualify for India's e-Medical Visa (£60, 60-day stay, triple entry) and the simpler e-Tourist Visa (£20, 30 days). Apply online at indianvisaonline.gov.in. Direct flights from London Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham to Mumbai (BOM) are 8–9 hours. We email a clinic invitation letter — UK patients almost always use the Medical Visa for treatment trips because of the longer validity window.

Does the team speak English? How will we communicate?

Yes — the entire clinical team speaks fluent English, including Dr Riyaz Quereshi (principal), all six specialists, and front-desk staff. Treatment plans, consent forms, prescriptions and aftercare instructions are all written in English. Most international patients message Dr Riyaz directly on WhatsApp before flying — share X-rays, ask questions, get a treatment plan in writing. During the trip you'll have his personal number for the entire duration. Hindi/Marathi are not required at any stage.

What happens if I have complications after I return home?

Every implant, crown and orthodontic case at Tru Smile includes lifetime aftercare via WhatsApp and video call — complimentary, no time limit. If something needs hands-on attention, our implant brands (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Osstem) carry warranties honoured by any qualified dentist worldwide; we send replacement parts directly to your local dentist if required. We also coordinate written case summaries with your home dentist before you leave Mumbai, so they have full radiographs and procedure notes on file. Out of ~600 international cases since 2015, fewer than 5 needed in-person revision back in India.

What payment methods do you accept for international patients?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express (credit/debit), international wire transfer in USD / GBP / EUR / AUD / CAD / AED, and UPI for visitors with Indian bank accounts. For larger cases (All-on-4, full-mouth rehab) you can split payment 50% on day of surgery and 50% on prosthetic fitting. No advance deposit is required to receive a treatment plan or hold a clinic slot — pay only when you start treatment in Mumbai. Receipts in your home currency are emailed for insurance reimbursement if your plan covers overseas care.

Are Indian dental qualifications recognized internationally?

Indian dental degrees are equivalent in clinical hours and curriculum to Western dental schools. BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is a 5-year programme + 1-year rotating internship — the same length as a US DDS/DMD. MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) adds 3 years of specialty training — comparable to a US residency. Dr Riyaz Quereshi holds his BDS plus advanced implant fellowships from ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists) and AOI (Academy of Osseointegration), and is empanelled with the Dental Council of India. Every dentist on the team is verified by India's Dental Council with active registration numbers we provide on request.

Can I see a treatment plan and price quote before I book my flight?

Yes — this is how every international consultation starts. WhatsApp Dr Riyaz a panoramic X-ray (or get one from your local dentist), describe your concerns, and you'll receive within 24–48 hours: a written treatment plan, alternative options where they exist, expected number of clinic days, total cost in your home currency, and recommended hotel category. No obligation, no deposit, no email signup wall. The vast majority of patients book their flight only after a video call with Dr Riyaz to finalise the plan.

How do I get from Mumbai airport (BOM) to the clinic? Where do most patients stay?

Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) is 30–45 minutes from the clinic in Jogeshwari West by Uber/Ola (~₹500 / $6). Most international patients stay within 1–3 km of the clinic — see the Hotels & Cost of Stay section above for budget (~$30/night), mid-range ($60–90/night) and premium ($120+/night) options. For longer trips many patients combine treatment with a Goa extension (1-hour flight) during the implant healing window. We provide airport-pickup arrangement on request — pre-booked and prepaid through the clinic so you don't deal with the airport taxi queue.
